The Royal Borough of Greenwich and the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) have announced a partnership to potentially invest in and refurbish public park tennis courts in Royal Greenwich. In total, funding is available for the refurbishment of six park tennis venues with an investment in the region of £300,000. Altash Gardens, Bostall Gardens, Kidbrooke Green Park, Maryon Park, Plumstead Common and Chesterfield Walk have been identified as sites for investment. The works would ensure quality facilities are available for the local community for years to come. To ensure residents have access to high quality, sustainable facilities, refurbishments would include: <li>resurfacing of tennis courts (not applicable to Bostall Gardens and Maryon Park) and two-tone painted surface </li><li>new nets and posts </li><li>new external fencing (where applicable) </li><li>electronic gated access system </li><li>online booking system (with a booking telephone line available) </li><li>a proposed blended model with a balance of free access and charged access. </li> The council must ensure that the courts will be sustainable to secure the LTA funding and have developed a proposed low-cost pricing model that would cover maintenance costs and secure the future of these community courts. Courts will be available to book online including via the LTA website, making it far easier to find and book a court or activity. Bookings could also be made by telephone. Gate access and booking system  

As part of the proposed refurbishments, courts will be available to book online via the Lawn Tennis Association website, making it far easier to find and book a court or activity.  &nbsp;This will also remove the risk of turning up at the courts and being unable to play due to them already being in use.&nbsp;The&nbsp;LTA&rsquo;s&nbsp;online booking system has seen a growth in participation in tennis in other boroughs and means you&nbsp;don&rsquo;t&nbsp;have to be part of a club to get involved. Bookings could also be made by telephone. Courts will be accessed via an electronic gated system, which will help reduce anti-social behaviour and misuse of courts ensuring they stay in&nbsp;great condition.  &nbsp;

Bookings could also be made by telephone. &nbsp;Courts will be accessed via an electronic gated system, which will help reduce anti-social behaviour and misuse of courts ensuring they stay in&nbsp;great condition.  &nbsp;

As part of the proposed refurbishments, courts will be available to book online via the Lawn Tennis Association website, making it far easier to find and book a court or activity.   This will also remove the risk of turning up at the courts and being unable to play due to them already being in use.&nbsp;The&nbsp;LTA&rsquo;s&nbsp;online booking system has seen a growth in participation in tennis in other boroughs and means you&nbsp;don&rsquo;t&nbsp;have to be part of a club to get involved in tennis across the borough. Bookings could also be made by telephone. &nbsp;Courts will be accessed via an electronic gated system, which will help reduce anti-social behaviour and misuse of courts ensuring they stay in great condition.

Gate access and booking system  

As part of the proposed refurbishments, courts will be available to book online via the Lawn Tennis Association website, making it far easier to find and book a court or activity.   This will also remove the risk of turning up at the courts and being unable to play due to them already being in use.&nbsp;&nbsp;The LTA&rsquo;s online booking system has seen a growth in participation in tennis in other boroughs and means you don&rsquo;t have to be part of a club to get involved. Bookings could also be made by telephone. Courts will be accessed via an electronic gated system, which will help reduce anti-social behaviour and misuse of courts ensuring they stay in great condition.
